Frame Building Material
Bocce Ball are courts are built from either redwood, pressure treated lumber, blocks, edgings, almost anything that is able to hold the material perfectly in place.
Size
Regulation size bocce ball courts are 91 feet long by 13 feet wide. We understand that space is limited in most yards, so the perfect size varies. In our 30 years of experience, 25 feet to 40 feet long and 6 feet to 8 feet works great for back yard bocce ball play.
Base Material
Inside of the frame we compact around 5 inches of 3/4" base rock for a solid foundation.We then top it off with about 2"-3" of decomposed granite
Finishes
We like to add some style to our bocce ball courts. Our most common outfit is a sanded redwood crown with a 2 inch lip. This lets the kids sit down when the court is not in play. Our favorite is installing outdoor lights under the crown. It keeps the fun going after the sun sets in style.
